Perform software updates on MultiSensor-LAN/RACK

The MultiSensor-LAN/RACK offers the possibility to actualize its software via the integrated FTP-server.

Actual software updates are available in the software section on www.kentix.de.

To check the actual installed software version, open the sensor‘s web server and open the system

information in the „System“ section.

To perform an update follow these steps:

Ensure that the internal FTP-Server of the MultiSensor is activated. It is activated by default, but can be

reactivated in the „Configuration“ section of the web interface, if necessary.

Unpack the update file (ZIP) into an new folder on your PC. The unpacked file has the name „image.bin“ and

must not be renamed.

Connect to the MultiSensor via FTP-Client (e.g. FileZilla). To log in enter the user data of the first user

(default: admin/password).

Download the files „config.ini“ (LAN+RACK) and „config_e.ini“ (RACK only) from the MultiSensor to back up

your configuration.

Now upload the file „image.bin“ into the root directory of the MultiSensor.

After about 1-2 minutes the MultiSensor automatically restarts.

IMPORTANT! During the update process, the power supply must not be interrupted.

The MultiSensor is now available again and you can check the software version in the „System“ section.

This can take up to 2 minutes after the first start.

Connect again with the FTP-Client to upload the stored configuration.

Perform a restart via the web interface afterwards to load the configuration.

Backup or copy configuration from MultiSensor-LAN/RACK

Connect to the MultiSensor via FTP-Client (e.g. FileZilla). To log in enter the user data of the first user

Download the files „config.ini“ (LAN+RACK) and „config_e.ini“ (RACK only) from the MultiSensor to back up

your configuration.

To transfer the configuration onto another MultiSensor, simply copy the file(s) to the desired sensor and

restart it. Note that the 2nd sensor will afterwards have the same IP address as the first one. It is possible to

alter the address with a text editor before uploading.

Note!

From firmware version 4.00.00 on the update via FTP-Server is obsolete.

In future, updates as well as Backup and Restore of the configuration are preformed via the web interface

of MultiSensor-LAN/RACK.

Detailed information for the update procedure with a new firmware can always be found in the release

notes coming with the corresponding update.
